Rangeley • Family or private fly and spin fishing trips are available to local streams and ponds. Fish from canoe or shore at some of the quietest places around. Try your luck for pickerel, perch, trout or salmon. The action can be fast and furious or quiet and sedative. During the spring and fall there are a few places to fish for trout with spinning rods. There are both pond and streamside opportunities for you to try your luck at brook trout and also an occasional salmon. Summer heat slows the trout fishing but the perch and pickerel pick up with the warmer water. The majority of theses trips are from canoe on a remote lake or pond.

Shoes you can step into ankle deep water with are a must have. Also quick drying clothes as fish do tend to splash us every chance they get. I offer wade-fishing trips as well. Group seminars are available by special arrangement. Striped Bass fishing in Maine and on Cape Cod is a mixed bag with fish from 12 inches to over 40 inches always a possibility. Bluefish are almost always available during May and September on Cape Cod and during late July and August in Maine. False Albacore are the targeted species on Cape Cod in September. Stripers and Blues are available in September and are considered bonus fish then. The excitement of fishing False Albacore is a special early fall treat to any angler. Blue fin Tuna (SBFT) are fished on the waters of Cape Cod Bay during the month of September. Commonly referred to as "baby" tuna, they range in size from 25 to 150 pounds. A challenge to any fly fisher. This is a demanding game which requires sturdy equipment, patients and Federal Permits which I have.

Richmond • Maine has a spectacular fishery. Whether you are looking to catch native brook trout or looking for a bass/pike fishing trip or looking to do them all, we have it. Maine has been in the national spotlight lately with a Major League Fishing tournament and a visit from Fishing University TV. All of the anglers said they were very impressed with the fishing and said it was one of the best places they have fished. Maine has 3 lakes ranked as the top 100 bass fishing lakes by Bass Masters. Two of them we fish regularly (Cobbosseecontee and China Lakes). Our Pike fishing is getting better every year with bigger fish being caught every year. Last year we caught many fish in the 40 to 50 inch range. I believe that it is just a matter of time before we break the 50 inch range. The best time for Pike fishing is early spring after ice out when they spawn or in late fall as water temp cools.

Machias • Maine offers some of the best Smallmouth Bass Fishing available anywhere. Bass often get little recognition by trout fishermen, but this warm water species shouldn't be ignored. A sizeable Smallmouth aggressively takes bait and offers a great fight, often leaping into the air much like a Salmon. Bass fishing heats up in June, lasting through September, with aggressive trophy Smallmouth making for action packed days during spring spawning. Effective fishing methods include casting topwater, crankbaits, and rubber baits. Primarily target fish will be Smallmouth Bass on this trip but incidental catches will be Chain Pickerel, Largemouth Bass and White Perch. All gear is provided. We fish from our 18' 2018 Smokercraft Freedom boat, with a 70hp Yamaha. This vessel features electric downriggers, top of the line fishfinder with bottom mapping and side imaging, and a wireless bow mount trolling motor. This vessel will keep you comfortable and safe during a fun day on the water!

Machias • Spring Salmon and Trout fishing when waters are cool is unmatched in this area of the state. Directly after ice out trolling streamers, smelts and lures just below the surface is highly effective. Fish are actively feeding and the action can be fast, producing large fish. As waters warm and summer progresses, fish move to deeper cooler water. Downriggers are used to get the bait and lures down where the fish area. Action can be a little slower this time of year but with patience and the right technique, large fish can be found. We fish from our 18' 2018 Smokercraft Freedom boat, with a 70hp Yamaha.
